Everything about your account lives in one Settings window: your profile and job preferences, sign-in details, theme and emails, memory, saved application answers, integrations, and your plan. This guide walks through each tab.
1. Open Settings
Click your name at the bottom left of the sidebar, then click Settings. The window opens on top of whatever you were doing, so you never lose your chat. Close it with the X or the Esc key.
2. Profile: photo, name, username
The Profile tab is where people and Yara learn who you are.
Photo: click the circle next to Avatar and pick an image. Drag the circle to frame your face, pull a corner to zoom, then click Save photo. Click your photo later to see it larger or change it.
Full name: click the row, type, then Save (or Cancel to keep the old one).
Username: this is your public address, yara.so/yourname. Yara checks that the new name is free before you save. Links to your old address stop working, so update them anywhere you shared them.
3. Profile: job preferences
Job preferences tell Yara what to look for and how to rank roles. Each row opens an editor; click Done when you finish.
Roles: search or type up to 3 roles. To swap one, remove a role first with its x.
Locations and Work setup (remote, hybrid, on-site).
Salary: a range in thousands, so 180 means $180k.
Levels, Search status, Company stages, Visa and Industries.
Dream companies: type a company name and press Enter. A dream company is a bonus, never a requirement.
Add preference adds any row you have not set yet. The trash icon clears a row.
When you search for jobs in chat, each role shows a match score. Click it to open Preference match and see which of your preferences the role meets, partly meets, or misses. Preferences apply to new searches, so run the search again after you change them.
4. Account: email and password
Change email: click Change, enter the new address and click Send confirmation. We email the new address a link; your email switches once you click it.
Password: click Set a password (or Change). We send a 6-digit code to your email; enter it, then type your new password twice. Use at least 8 characters. If the code is wrong you will see "That code is not right", and you can ask for a new one after the timer runs out.
Sign in method shows how you sign in today: email code, password, or Google.
Other devices: click Sign out to end every other session on your account.
Delete account is at the bottom of this tab.
5. Personalization: theme and emails
Theme: Light, Dark, or Auto. Auto follows your computer or phone setting and switches by itself.
Notifications: turn portfolio visit emails and marketing emails on or off. Changes save right away.
6. Memory
Custom instructions: tell Yara how to treat you, for example "keep answers short". This works on every plan.
Enable memory (Pro and Max plans): when on, Yara saves what it learns about you and brings it into every chat.
Memory: the text box shows everything Yara knows about you. Edit or delete any line yourself; it saves when you click outside the box.
You can also ask in chat, for example "forget my favorite color". Yara shows a card with the line it will remove; click the confirm button on that card to apply the change.
7. Application answers
Under Application kit, choose what Yara uses by default: a resume (Ask every time or Tailor to each role) and a portfolio (Ask every time, Tracking link or None). About you holds your name, email, phone and location. When you confirm an answer while applying, Yara saves it under Saved answers so you never type it twice. Click any answer to edit it, then Save; use the trash icon to remove it. Under Links, click Add link to add your portfolio, LinkedIn, GitHub or other profiles; clear a link to remove it. Your resumes and portfolios live in your Library.
8. Integrations
Connect GitHub to sync your portfolios to your repos, on Pro and Max. Click Connect and sign in to GitHub in the window that opens. See Sync your portfolio to GitHub.
9. Billing and Usage
Billing shows your plan and renewal date (Adjust plan to switch), your payment card (Update), usage credits (Buy credits), Auto-reload (buys 500 credits when you drop below 100, up to $50 a month), your invoices, and Cancel plan.
Usage shows how much of your monthly plan credits you have used, when they reset, feature limits such as application kits, and what your plan includes.
