How applying works in Yara: application kits, In Network roles and I've applied

What Yara does when you apply, what an application kit is, how In Network roles differ, and how to mark a role as applied.

Written by Abdullah Atif

Yara prepares your application; you stay in control of sending it. This guide explains what happens when you apply, what an application kit is, and how In Network roles work.

1. Start an application

Open a role from a search in chat and click Apply with Yara, or click the recommendation card at the top of the role and then Apply all changes. You can also paste any job link in chat and ask Create an application from this.

2. What Yara prepares

  • Yara reads the real application form for the role.

  • It tells you which resume it will use, for example Tailor "resume.pdf" to this role? Pick Tailor it, Send as is, Use a different resume or Always tailor. If the role already has a tailored copy, Yara offers that one.

  • Use a different resume opens a second question, Which resume should I use?, with your five newest resumes and Other to search the rest.

  • If the form asks for a portfolio, Yara also asks which portfolio to include, a tracking link, or none.

  • Tailoring edits a copy saved for that role. Your main resume stays as it is.

  • It builds an application kit with your contact details and a drafted answer for every question on the form.

  • Answers marked Needs you are things only you can confirm, such as work authorization or office location.

3. Submit and mark it applied

  1. Review the kit. Use the pencil to edit an answer and the copy button to paste it into the form.

  2. Click Open application to go to the employer's form and submit it there.

  3. Come back and click I've applied. The role moves to Applied on your Applications board.

Yara never submits an application for you on an outside job site.

4. In Network roles

Roles with the gold In Network badge are Yara Network roles, with companies Yara works with directly. Until you are in the Yara Network, their button reads Request an intro (it changes to Requested after you ask). Once you are in, it reads Apply, your application goes through the Yara team, and the team updates the status on your board as the employer responds. You cannot change the status of these roles yourself, but you can leave one with Withdraw in the ... menu. To apply to them you need to be in the Yara Network, which is open on every plan: see Join the Yara Network.

5. How many applications you can make

  • Free: 5 application kits in total.

  • Pro: 100 application kits a month.

  • Max: unlimited application kits.
