Your public profile and project pages: what visitors see

Your profile, project pages, share links, resume.json and llms.txt, and the page shown for a wrong link

Written by Abdullah Atif

Everyone with a Yara account gets a public profile, and each project on it gets its own page. This guide shows what visitors see at each address, how to share a page that is just for one person, and what happens when someone opens a link that does not exist.

1. Open your public profile

Your profile lives at yara.so/yourusername (it also works as yourusername.yara.so). Open it in a private window to see exactly what a visitor sees: your name and headline, your short bio, your social links, your Experience and your Projects.

If you have not published yet, visitors see a page that says your profile is not published. Publish from your portfolio (see Build, edit and publish your portfolio).

2. Open a project page

Click any project on your profile to open its page at yara.so/yourusername/project-name. It shows the project title, the date, your name, the main image or video and the full write-up. Use Back to return to the profile, and the copy button in the top right to copy the page link.

3. Share a link made for one person

Open your portfolio from Library, click Share, type who the link is for (for example "Google recruiter") and click Create link. Copy the new link from its row and send it. Each link opens your portfolio and lets you see when it was opened.

The person you send it to sees your portfolio, no sign-in needed:

For views, visitors and time on page, see Share your portfolio with tracked links and see who visits.

4. Let tools and AI assistants read your profile

Yara also publishes your profile in two machine-readable formats, so job sites, scripts and AI assistants can read it accurately:

  • yara.so/yourusername/resume.json: your resume in the standard JSON Resume format (basics, work, education, skills and projects).

  • yara.so/yourusername/llms.txt: a plain-text summary of you, your location, your profile link, your work experience and your education.

Both update on their own when you edit your profile or resume. If something looks wrong there, fix it in your resume and it will follow.

5. What visitors see on a wrong link

If someone opens a project or share link that does not exist (a typo, or a project you removed), they get Yara's "page not found" screen with Go home and Go to Yara buttons, not a broken page. If a visitor tells you a link is not working, open your profile, click the project again and copy a fresh link.
