When you upload a resume file, Yara keeps the original in your Library as View only. To change it, make an editable copy. Your file stays as it was.
1. Make an editable copy
Open Library. Under Resumes, your file shows with its file name and the caption Uploaded file. Click it.
The file opens in a viewer marked View only. Click Convert to edit.
Yara opens a chat with your file attached and the message Make my uploaded resume an editable copy ready. Press Enter to send it.
If the name on the file is different from the name on your account, Yara asks Is this your resume? Pick It's mine to go on.
Yara reads your file and rebuilds it as an editable resume, usually in under a minute. The new resume opens in the pane next to the chat, and you can click any text to change it. Your edits save on their own.
Convert to edit works for PDF and Word (.docx) files. You can also attach a PDF, Word file or a picture of a resume in chat and ask Yara to make it editable.
2. Your resume keeps its look
Yara keeps the words and the design of your file. This look shows as the Custom template.
On Pro and Max, you can edit a Custom resume and switch to any other template and back.
On Free, a Custom resume is view only. Click Edit for free to move it to the Simple template and start editing. Yara saves your uploaded look. Click Keep this design to see plans.
Good to know
Converting always makes a new editable copy. Your uploaded file is never changed, and an editable resume you already have is never overwritten, so you can convert again at any time.
Read the new copy once and fix anything that came across differently. Edit and tailor your resume shows what you can do next.
